President
IBA Industrial
Thomas Servais is a 50 years old Engineer in Mechanics and used to be a Professor at University (UCLouvain, Belgium).
After a start in Aircraft Engine Industry, he finally joined IBA in 2008 to lead the Manufacturing Team dedicated to Proton Therapy Cyclotrons. Then he occupied several management positions in R&D.
8 years ago, he became IBA Industrial President, being convinced that the society in general and specifically Medical Devices applications will benefit more than ever from IBA technology and know-how.
A few years ago, during an interesting exchange with Alain Strasser (Aerial), he developed the conviction that ionizing applications dedicated to food were just as important and promising and that their growth deserved a dedicated technical, industrial and regulatory forum. That’s how IFIS was born!
Today, E-beam and X-ray outstanding growth confirms his view and feeds his daily deep involvement, curiosity, and passion to serve this Industry.
